Frequently asked questions.
How do I place an order?
You are welcome to order directly through the website and pay via credit card. I will see your name in the order and link it to any email or phone correspondence we have had.
OR
Once you make decisions you can order by emailing blueflagfarmmaine@gmail.com and I will create an invoice for you which you can pay cash on pick up, personal check on pick up, via Venmo (an additional % fee based on the total for the processing fee), or paypal.
How many buckets do I need to buy for my event?
Each DIY bucket has approximately 60 stems of fresh blooms and foliage. Flowers are conditioned and ready for use in design work. It's hard to say how many you will need because that depends on the size of your containers/arrangements and what blooms are available at the time. A pint sized mason jar can use anywhere from 3-10 stems.
Where and how do I pick up my flowers?
We are located at 40 Flaggy Meadow Road in Buxton, Maine. Recently GPS has been sending folks to my neighbor’s sandpit, so just pay attention to the map and make sure you’re on Flaggy Meadow Road. Our house is a small white cape across the street from Carroll Park. Someone should be here to help you but if for some reason, there’s no one here, your order will be in the cooler. The cooler is the small shed-like building behind our garage. You can leave payment (cash or checks) in that cooler and take your flowers, or if you have prepaid via credit card on the website, Venmo (@blueflagmaine), or paypal, you are welcome to just take your flowers.
How can I pay for my flowers?
Payment is due upon pick up of your order. We accept cash, personal checks, credit cards via website orders, Venmo (@blueflagmaine), and Paypal (blueflagfarmmaine@gmail.com).
Where should I store the flowers before my event?
Store your flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. An air conditioned room is perfect. A cool basement is great. I shy away from recommending refrigeration because many flowers have a tendency to brown at temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don’t know the fridge, just don’t risk it.
What else do my flowers need after they leave the farm?
If your flowers come in a container with water, they need to stay in water. Please check to make sure all your stems are submerged in water and add fresh, clean water accordingly.
